These Terms govern your purchase and use of Aletha Codex ("the Software"), sold by Roland Songer, doing business as Aletha Codex ("we," "us"). By purchasing or using the Software you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Software.

2. The product

Aletha Codex is a one-time-purchase AI assistant that runs locally on your Mac. It is licensed, not sold.

3. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use one copy of the Software on the Mac you activate it on, for your own use. See the EULA accepted in the app for full license terms.

4. Restrictions

You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, share, rent, or publicly post the Software or your license key; copy it beyond your own use; reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent its license or activation; or remove proprietary notices.

5. Payment

The price is $100 USD, one time, processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.

6. Refunds

14-day conditional money-back guarantee — see the Refund Policy. Because the Software runs offline and its license cannot be remotely disabled, on refund you must stop using and delete all copies; continued use after a refund is a license violation.

7. No warranty (AS-IS)

THE SOFTWARE AND ALL AI OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant the Software will be error-free or that output will be accurate.

8. AI output

The Software uses an AI model that can produce inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or otherwise unreliable output. Output is not professional, legal, medical, financial, or other expert advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and deciding how to use any output, and for ensuring your prompts and use comply with all applicable laws.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use the Software for any unlawful purpose or to generate, facilitate, or distribute content that is illegal. You are solely responsible for your use and outputs.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM AI OUTPUT OR YOUR USE OF IT.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Software, your outputs, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

12. Privacy

See our Privacy Policy. The Software runs locally; your conversations and vault never leave your device.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; the current version governs purchases made after it is posted.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in Boone County, Kentucky.
