Privacy Policy

This describes how Roland Songer, doing business as Aletha Codex, handles information for Aletha Codex.
1. The short version
Aletha Codex is an app on your Mac. Your files and vault stay on your Mac, and nothing you do in the app is sent to us. The built-in model, Aletha Core, and models in a local Ollama run on your Mac; when you choose a cloud model through Ollama Cloud, your prompts go to that provider, and the app says so under the composer. We only handle the limited information needed to sell you the Software and support you.
2. What we collect
(a) At purchase: your email and name, collected through our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe processes your payment; we do not receive or store your card details. (b) License record: a record linking your purchase to your license. (c) Support: anything you send us by email.
3. What the app collects
Nothing is transmitted to us: no account, no telemetry, no usage data, no prompts or content. Prompts leave your Mac only when you use a cloud model, and then only to that model's provider. The app checks alethacodex.com/version.json for a newer version; that request carries no personal data.
4. How we use it
To deliver your license and download, provide receipts and support, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
5. Sharing
With Stripe (payment) and, if used, an email provider, solely to operate the sale. We do not sell your information.
6. Retention
We keep purchase records as required for tax, accounting, and support; you may request deletion of information not legally required to retain.
7. Your choices
Email alethacodex@gmail.com to access or delete your information.
8. Children
The Software is not for anyone under 18.
9. Changes / contact
We may update this policy. Questions: alethacodex@gmail.com.
